Mr Woo is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Sunderland Eye Infirmary specialising in Glaucoma and Cataract Surgery.
He performs Micro-invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS), customised cataract surgery, glaucoma filtration surgery, glaucoma shunt (tube) surgery and laser treatment for glaucoma.
Mr Woo was awarded an undergraduate scholarship to study medicine at University College London Medical School and qualified as a doctor in 2005. During this time, he was also awarded the Jean Shanks Foundation Scholarship to complete an Intercalated BSc in Tumour Biology.
Mr Woo worked as a Foundation Doctor in London before embarking on a comprehensive 7-year Ophthalmology training program in the North East of England.
Towards the end of his training, Mr Woo received sub-specialist training in Glaucoma at both the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle and Sunderland Eye Infirmary. In order to further his interest in cataract surgery, Mr Woo also completed the well-regarded Postgraduate Diploma programme in Cataract and Refractive Surgery from Ulster University.
Mr Woo subsequently entered the Glaucoma Fellowship Programme at the world-renown Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. After completing his Glaucoma Fellowship, Mr Woo worked as a Consultant Eye Specialist at York Hospital prior to his appointment at Sunderland Eye Infirmary.
